At Desert Farms, our mission is to get everyone drinking "real" milk again.
Our commitment to local farming communities has created a handful of family farms across America. From the rolling hills of Pennsylvania to the sunny coast of California our commitment remains stronger than ever. After all, great camel milk starts with great local farmers and a healthy herd.
All camels are pasture-raised, meaning that they are allowed to eat all the different natural flora in the pastures, a natural diet their bodies can easily handle – and one that keeps them happy and healthy.
Our Practices
Milk is at the heart of our business, so we take it seriously. It has to taste great, but we also want to buy from farmers who look after their workers, herds and the environment. Our milk comes from US camel farmers only, of all types and sizes (large groups and tiny family farms) with an average herd of 6 camels.
We ask our farmers to use “Good Manufacturing Practices” and abide by fair minimum standards to improve their social and environmental performance year after year. Our strategy is to work with them and help them to get there. Achieving our goals is a journey with a daily destination of quality.
