Description

Desert Farms Camel Milk Kefir is a 100% Natural probiotic yoghurt drink, with a refreshing, creamy taste.*

Kefir is the ancient beverage of the people from the Caucasus Mountains, who attributed their long, healthy lives to traditional kefir.

Each bottle naturally contains billions of the following: Bifidobacterium, Lactobacillus brevis, Lactobacillus paracasei, Lactococcus lactis, and Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

Camel Milk Kefir is produced in the traditional way in small batches, fermenting fresh pasteurized camel milk with living kefir cultures. It is free from added sugar and preservatives. A slight fizz is the yeast producing CO2, which is a natural feature of traditional kefir.

The name Kefir comes from the Turkish word “Keif” – meaning “good feeling” – for the sense of well-being experienced after drinking it.

"I've recently read a lot about camel milk but wasn't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by both the taste and how easy it was for me to digest. I will definitely order again. Thanks!

    Not what I expected

I love the frozen camel milk but the kefir was way too liquidly not what regular kefir consistency would be even when using plant base milk. My guess is that the cultures when frozen, die off because I tested several times trying to get it to thicken up at room temperature but no activity or change noted.

Hi Maria, Thank you for giving us a feedback! Please note that the kefir is made with the regular milk and we add kefir grains to it. This is not suppose to thicken up since the camel milk is a lighter milk. Should you need any further clarifications, please reach out our customer service team at support@desertfarms.com

    Good

It's not great because it's pasteurized.

    Very tasty!

Loved it. The kefir is the most refreshing drink you can have. Taste light and amazing. Milk is also great. I found that letting it saw out in the water on the counter created a better consistency and taste.

FAQ

01. Why is camel milk so expensive?

Camels don’t give lots of milk, but what they do give is precious. They only give milk when they have a baby, and lactation lasts from 10 months to over a year. They have long pregnancies, and it’s not easy to breed them, so while the US learns more about camel breeding, we’re thankful to get what we do. Milking camels (cows) produce around 5-6 liters or so a day (imagine three 2-liter bottles of soda). So it takes a whole farm, lots of feed and pasture, veterinary care, and human hands to care for and milk these ladies. If you saw how much labor and expense go into it, you’d be surprised it’s not more costly. Since many of our customers are parents, we won’t charge more than we think is reasonable.

02. Can my kids drink camel milk?

Yes! This product is not intended to cure or diagnose any illness. If you plan to use camel milk as a natural remedy, please consult your local physician and alternative health care practitioner before you introduce a new food to your children’s diet.

03. Why don’t you use glass bottles?

We can if you prefer. We like to give options to our customers and have no preference for one or another. However, please note that glass bottles usually increase the price of your shipment.

04. Is camel milk kosher?

Camel Milk is not kosher according to Jewish law. The Jewish law requirement is that an animal must have a cloven foot and chew their cud; camels do not have a cloven foot. Both criteria must be met for an animal to be considered kosher. However, a Rabbi may honor exceptions to this rule when there are health issues. Contact your local Rabbi for more information.

05. Is camel milk halal?

Yes Camel milk is halal

06. Where is your production facility?

We work with Amish and other family farms nationwide. Each bottle is milked, bottled and packaged at the farm to ensure the delicate camel milk is not exposed to contamination. Our camel milk is not and will never be shipped to a third-party contractor for bottling. We try to limit the number of people dealing with your products to ensure freshness and purity.
